We had good fun working with Jim, he was empathic and intuitive and able to find solutions very quickly. He has good taste in outboard gear too. He was able to easily adapt to our sound world and be versatile when mastering. I recorded my album Dragonfly live at Ranscombe studios in 2010. It was my first time recording as a solo artist so I was nervous but Jim and Brendan are very calming and put you at your ease. Working with Jim is brilliant. He’s always on the same wavelength as me immediately – even when i’m asking how best to mic up a bowl of Rice Krispies for that perfect snap, crackle and pop.
